Cville Cycling Soirée

OVERVIEW

welcome to the bike ride to begin all bike rides, I don’t care who you are, you will come to this bike ride…
(read that in a very convincing hypnotist voice)
Here’s the plan:
meet at ohill bike rack at 6pm
once we’ve got everyone there (maybe hanging out for 30 minutes), we’ll bike down mccormick, University Avenue, West Main, and then water Street, ending at the Ting pavilion. Then, we’ll bike back to the corner to hang out and talk to everyone we meet about how much fun we had!
Basic rules I have in mind are that we all need to remain reasonably safe and be positive towards anyone we meet, regardless of how they react to us. Don’t flick people off if they honk or yell at you lol. Everyone should do their best to make sure we stay in a group, this isn’t a race. Although we will be in a group and will be quite visible, everyone still needs to be alert of other bikers, and other people on the road as well.

Seriously though, this is something I’ve wanted to start doing for a while now. I plan to make this a weekly celebration of biking and other wheeled ways of getting around (even Veos 🤮)
The day and time and location might need to be optimized but I want to create a consistent place that everyone from insane electric skateboard kids to people who’ve never ridden a bike can come to. As the plan for this weekly event gets solidified, I’ll keep posting it on here but ideally it will eventually be an organic event that just always happens. Bring your bike (if you have one) bike helmet and lock (if you want), your friends (if you have them), and the stoke (which you better have). Also, this conveniently takes place prior to survivor hour soooo…you have no excuses essentially. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
