Corner Of Echols Dorm
Echols House, McCormick Road, Charlottesville, VA, USA
Did you know that dandelions are edible (except for the stem) and can be used to make jam, tea, and salads? The dandelions are in bloom, so we will be wandering around grounds looking for dandelions to forage. Because dandelions are a common garden weed, we will be foraging in locations not sprayed with pesticides.
NOTE: Dandelions contain a natural latex, so if you have a latex allergy, you can forage for purple deadnettle which is entirely edible and can be used for tea, salads, and pesto.
Trip details:
9:00 AM – meet at echols and find foraging locations
10:30 AM – finish foraging and admire our harvest
You bring:
– a container for the plants
