OVERVIEW

The Riprap Hollow trail is a 9.5 to 10 mile loop in Shenandoah Park with beautiful, rocky overlooks towards the Shenandoah Valley and an awesome swimming hole, when it’s not winter! We will start from a trailhead on the Valley side of the park off of 340 north from Waynesboro, so no park pass is needed. The route does have some steep climbs and rocky footing in some areas so please, so please bring good shoes and be prepared for a couple small creek crossings, stepping rock to rock. It can also be 10 degrees or more colder on the ridge top than it is at UVA.
We will stop for views, snacks, lunch, wintergreen berries, any good animal tracks, so bring your own lunch, water. If the weather is less than pleasant we can shorten the hike to a 6 mile route, but plan for up to 10.
Club provides a seat in a car, gas money. I’ll expand it as drivers sign up. See you soon!
