Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Three Ridges
It is 14.4 miles long, rocky, and goes up and down three ridges with an overall elevation gain of about 4000 feet. Before the weather gets cold continuously for the next few months, I’m going to try for one more trip out. Since I have been conditioning since Spring, I now want to put myself to the test. This hike is considered one of the most strenuous hikes in the area and is not advisable for first-timers unless you are in shape with aerobic excercises. Please feel confident in you abilities before you sign-up.
Keep in mind part of this hike will likely be in the dark, so bring a light. Also, due to its length bring plenty of food and water (think of having two food stops on the trail instead of a typically one lunch break).
I will expand the group size (max. 12-14) if members with cars willing to drive sign up.
What to bring: water (2-3 liters), lunch & snacks, small pack to carry things, hiking clothes with multiple layers for adding warmth, hat & gloves, flashlight/headlamp, hiking boots
Club provides: carpool money/seat in a car
