Devil’s Marbleyard Hike

OVERVIEW

For those who:
-have already aced all your finals (#crushedit)
-haven’t aced them yet but just want to procrastinate on more studying
-really like hiking until you’re frozen like a Popsicle

This one’s for you.

Devil’s Marbleyard Hike! Drive will take about 1.5-2 hours. Hike is 8.3 miles. We’ll start up with a moderately easy 1.5 mile hike through the woods. From there, the mountain opens up into a 100 acre outcrop of granite rock, with rocks ranging in the size of “small pebbles to boulders the size of houses.” The grade is relatively steep, and you’ll have to use your hands to scramble 1/2-mile stretch to the top. The scramble is amazingly fun and provides some spectacular views, so it’s definitely worth the trip. No climbing experience/gear necessary!

Please bring:
-hiking shoes/good shoes
-water (2L)
-lunch and snacks
-money (just in case we decide to stop for food)
-lots of warm layers (it will be cold!)
-good adventure stories to tell me
