Dolly Sods Hiking/Camping/Backpacking for the Memorial Weekend

OVERVIEW

Dolly Sods is one of the most spectacular places nearby. If your school is over and your summer is still not started, lets do it from 3 days, 2 nights backpacking in Dolly Sods Wilderness. The place has more than 25 miles of trials from easy/moderate to ‘painful’.
Our hiking plans will be settled on the group strength and wishes.
General attitude should be trying to cover as much of the wilderness area as possible,

On the way back (Monday) we may make a stop in Seneca rock area [it’s just nearby on the way] and explore this beautiful piece of nature as well.

It’s preferable to have some backpacking experience.

You have:
appropriate clothing & boots,
water,
camping gear you have (backpack, tent, sleeping bag/pad, headlamp)
lunch for Saturday,
money for dinner on Monday (we’ll stop for dinner somewhere probably in Harisonburg on the way back),
and a good attitude!

Optional:
camera,
sunblock,
insect spray,
dishes,
extra snacks

It might be extra expense for groceries.

The club provide:
gear you need,
gear for common use,
gas $$ + tips or a place in a car

Don’t be overprepared, we’ll try to utilize as little civilization achievements as possible (no soap or stuff like that).
