OVERVIEW

ayooo!!! you wanna bike, we wanna bike, ok yeah everyone wanna bike!!

Shay and I are thinking Friday we will begin the weekend in PISGAH by taking a big crew biking at DuPont State Forest. DuPont has awesome trails in addition to some awesome scenery (think hunger games waterfall scene, yes that is real. that is dupont. that could be you.) and pretty much an endless array of options for ride length. The thought is that we all start at the corn mill shoals parking area, and then from there the general plan will be to ride the route deemed “most-excellent DuPont west side” by mountain bike project (https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7037393/most-excellent-dupont-west-side) which is 21 miles with ~2,500 ft of elevation, but has many options for bailouts if people wanted to go shorter or add on if you decide more! BIKE! time!

*the trails on this side of DuPont (& in this area of NC generally) are fairly techy, steep & rocky, so with that being said you should be ready for some hard riding and big climbs/descents!!

tldr:
-we will bring 2-3 cars & ride some version of the dupont most excellent route (https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7037393/most-excellent-dupont-west-side, take a look at this link, actually, has good info you should look at before signing up for this trip)
-one car will do a slightly shorter route and one ride a bit longer (& maybe another in the middle or on either end depending on interest)

Feel free to reach out to either of us: Shay (‭540-750-5431‬) & Marion (704-661-9552) with any questions you have about this trip or Pisgah in general!

stoked to see you all there,
xoxoxox shay & marion

We’ll provide:
– Bikes/helmets
– Bike racks
– Pumps, tools, etc

You bring:
– Water: around 3L
– Food: lunch and snacks
* rides are known to go a bit longer than planned sometimes, so think a few extra granola bars and a few extra sips of water than you think you will actually need
– Appropriate clothing/footwear/sunscreen/
– Gloves are recommended for keeping the fingers working in the cold and protecting your hands from scrapes if you fall – $10 Mechanix work gloves are great
– A bag to carry your water and food: the club has some daypacks if you need one (let us know in the questionnaire)
