116 Washington Avenue - A.K.A. Shred Shack
Gauley Festival Site
Hello hello.
I was looking to head out to the new this weekend, chill with all the Gauley gnar heads, find something to do on Saturday, then bike on the way back to town on Sunday morning. We can leave 9/16 at 3pm or earlier if we want.
Saturday Plans:
I wanted to leave this day open for more of an ad hoc approach. There is a climbing/hiking trip going out with our very own Rhaude! http://outdoorsatuva.org/members/adventure/read/4080
So the possibility of jumping in with them is there – you’d be responsible for any of that scheduling or gear acquisition
There is loads of stuff to do in the area, so it is likely some kind of car pooling and/or drop-off-pick-up type situation can be worked out.
Sunday:
We sill be leaving the camp semi-early (TBD but before 10am) and head to Monongaheal NF where we will hit up the Eagle Camp loop – https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7029272/eagle-camp-loop
I have not been on this trail but it looks like DH single track to a road back to the car. It is a total of 13.6 miles so it isn’t for beginners/first time riders. We should be back before sunset and I am hoping to get into town around 6 or so.
CAMPING: festival entrance fees are $20 sat night (club covers $10)
YOU PROVIDE:
any gear if you have it (tent/sleeping bag/stove/camping stuff)
clothes for biking & j. chillin
water (will need at least 2Ls for the ride)
You are responsible for food logistics
-The club can provide some of these items if you do not have them
Also, my pup is going to come with us so if you have any dog alergies don’t forget yo medzz.
Email me know if you have any questions!! gpt9ce@virginia.edu
