Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
UVa Community Garden
You: Wow, could the weekend of April 20th — with 4/20 (celebrating the best green substance out there, the lima bean), Dr. Dog coming to C’ville, and Creekathon 2.0 — get any better??? MAYBE if I could soak up the sun, give back to my community, and plant veggies whilst eating pizza and jammin’ out to some sweet tuneage? And get an excuse to flaunt my new ODC bucket hat?
Me: Say no more.
Join me on my trip to the UVa Community Garden for its annual Big Spring Thing! What better way to celebrate Earth Day than learning first-hand about local, sustainable agriculture? We’ll be helping to rebuild the garden (which was recently torn up), planting vegetables, and rejoicing in the glory of spring. There’ll be free pizza, music, and good times to be had.
The garden is right across from O’Hill dining hall so we can walk there from Echols!
Since this is a service trip, each person get $7 of food reimbursed!!! FOLKS. That’s almost a Roots bowl. That’s: 2 Bodo’s egg and cheddar bagels; 2 Bodo’s bagels with avocado, tomato, and sprouts; 3 Bodo’s bagels with cinnamon sugar and butter; maybe even a Bodo’s bagel with cream cheese and lox, if you’re into that kind of thing. Are you pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down? The possibilities are endless.
Bring:
-Clothes that can get dirty (your “Earth Day suit” – not to be confused with your birthday suit)
-Your beautiful self that can get dirty
-Bucket hat?
-Water
