Virginia Beach
This year marks the 50th annual Virginia Beach East Coast Surfing Championships.
If you think your skills are fly enough, you can enter the competition in your respective category
*or you can volunteer in things such as beer sales (21+) or tee shirt sales (21-) and etc,
*or you can come along and just spend the day on the beach
I’m thinking of booking a campsite at First Landing State Park, where we’ll spend Friday and Saturday nights, then come home Sunday after the events. We likely won’t spend the whole weekend at the competition and will find a spot for some wave catching of our own as well.
If people are up for it and don’t know how to surf but still want to come, I can do a surfing workshop, discussing water/wave patterns, and basic beginner tips and advice (board rentals can be found for those who need them).
More participants can be added if drivers sign up. I believe the club still takes care of gas and some/ifnotmost food and part of the camping fees, but that is conditional on the semester rules when school starts up.
Bring:
camping gear
boards
etc
(Complete list to be sent out as event approaches)
