Elliot Knob Backpackinggg!!!

OVERVIEW

This same trip was posted earlier BUT I’ve been planning on doing it this weekend for a couple weeks… so please don’t kill me that it’s a repeat I promise it was an original idea!!!!

Anyways… I’ve been yearning to go sleep outside and THIS is the weekend. Sleeping in a fire tower with 360 views at peak fall foliage is everything you could ever want and more. You may be wondering why the heck we are going Sunday to Monday but have no fear we will be back for 12pm classes. This hike is supposed to be challenging woohooooo It’s tough on the way up (meaning we will cruise down on Monday!!!) but I’ve heard it’s worth it. Besides I’m a slow hiker and will most definitely be huffing and puffing my way to the top. Some experience hiking is recommended just so you know your own limits BUT really anyone can join 😀

Here is our glorious plan:
10/25
– 12:30pm: leave
– 1:45pm: start hikingggg
– 5:30ish: reach the top & cook & play games & watch the sunset etc.
10/26
– 6:30: wake up, watch sunrise, brekkie
– 7:45: hike down (we will be going a little faster as it’s Monday morning but nothing too crazy)
– 9:45ish: back at car
– 11:00: UVA!!!!!

YOU BRING
– backpacking bag
– sleeping bag
– sleeping pad
– bowl + utensils
– food for breakfast, lunch, dinner (I’m planning on bringing ramen – text me if you want me to grab you some and how many !)
– SNACKS
– 3-4 liters of water
– headlamp
– clothes to hike in + sleep in
– a solid jacket. it will get cold at night.
– toothbrush + toothpaste
– GOOD SHOES!!!!
– any fun games we can play at the top 🙂

I BRING:
– stoves + fuel
– water filter
– cooking stuff
– first aid kit
