Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Come out and celebrate the end of classes with some insane mountain biking at Sherando Lake!!! The last time we did this trip, it was a blast, and this time, it’s gonna be 10 times more fun.
Here’s the low-down: we’ll drive to Sherando Lake, leave a car there, and drive up to the top of a nearby mountain with another car. The rest will be some pedaling on a few rolling parts, but mostly conversion of potential energy to the kinetic energy we like to call insane speed. The trip will end with a visit to the sweet waters of Sherando Lake and a competition to see who can do the most awesome bike stunts.
There will be extreme rock gardens, narrow trails, and steep descents along the way, which are very fun but require experience to conquer safely. As the gravity of this trip warrants, I am asking that you only sign up if you are confident in your abilities on a mountain bike–you don’t have to be a super good pro-mountain biker, but some experience going over 15 mph on a bike is definitely necessary.
The trails at Sherando last forever, so we’ll probably be in the woods for 2-3 hours, bringing the total trip time to around 4-6 hours.
Finally, for the shuttling (and this whole trip) to work, I’ll need at least one other person to drive. PLEASE SIGN UP TO DRIVE!!!
