Exploring the ‘Nut

OVERVIEW

Hello yes I am a trip leader and I will be attending Creekathon (and so should you!). I’d like to try and up the number of trips I’ve led thus far in my time in the ODC, so here is me killing two birds with one stone.

For this trip we will be meeting at the rendez-vous area in the park, meaning you should sign up for Creekathon and whatnot separately. Once everyone gets there and settles in, maybe grabbing something to eat, the group will gather and depart on our quest.

This will be a largely choose-your-own-adventure adventure. I have not yet been on the trails of Walnut Creek, so I am quite excited to pick a direction and start walking! Our goal will be to get lost. To have the kind of interpersonal bonding experience you can only ever have when you have no idea where you’re going. Maybe we’ll see some rocks and climb them? Maybe we’ll see some trees and climb them? The world will be our oyster!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t forget:
-Maybe good shoes to hike in
-Water for drinkin’ if you’re into that kind of thing
-I’d be pretty impressed if anyone had a compass
-Lots of jokes
-Even a few stories would be pretty good
-A list of pet peeves or things you can rant about
-A general sense of adventure
-Willingness to become best friends with a new group of people and form deep connections for a brief period of time for the sake of fabricating a memorable experience that can never be replicated
-Snacks are always appreciated

Also who knows how long we’ll really be lost in the bush? The start and end time for this adventure will be fairly flexible so long as we’re all generally on the same page.
