Fall Break Backpacking at Dolly Sods Wv

OVERVIEW

Come out for the long weekend to see some of the best fall foliage in the east! Dolly Sods is in a gorgeous area of West Virginia near Seneca Rocks and Canaan Valley. The colors and landscape are amazing, and you’ll feel as though you’re in a different part of the country entirely!

This trip is open to all levels of hikers – just be ready to carry a full pack, soak up some sun and quality time outside, and visit a beautiful place! We’ll be leaving Friday afternoon and returning Tuesday morning. If you sign up, know that you are committing to the whole weekend.

Club provides: seat in a car, gas, food, equipment that you don’t have, leadership.

You provide:
backpacking gear (pack, headlamp, sleeping bag & pad)
water (at least 2 liters)
hiking shoes & socks (boots preferable)
bowl/mug/fork/spoon/spork; pocketknife if you have one
clothes – layer layer layer (I will send out a packing list of clothing to those who get on the trip. It will be cold this time of year (in the 30s at night) so you will need to pack warm)
money for any snacks/extra you purchase on the way to/fro WV
