Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
New River Gorge
If you enjoy climbing trees even when sober this is the trip for you!
We will head to the new river gorge for three full days of joyous rock ascending. I can take a few beginners on this trip. You should be pretty comfortable with the basics of climbing by the end of fall break.
Details:
Leave Friday the 5th at 5:30pm
Climb Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Return Monday the 8th afternoon/night
Things you bring: **You must return rented gear within two days getting back. We have 70 people going out the next weekend who will need gear**
Climbing shoes
Chalk bag
Harness
Helmet
Headlight
A shelter (tent/hammock)
sleeping bag and mat
food
water (We can refill at the campsite)
sturdy shoes such as chacos
clothing
optional:
towel (campsite has a shower)

A two burner stove and propane (we can all use)

Climbing is a serious and potentially dangerous sport. I reserve the right to verbally warn or “ground” you for behavior I think is unsafe. I’ll go over this before we get to the crag but examples include:
Using improper belay technique
“Free Soloing” or climbing without a rope or crash pad
Not wearing a helmet in the drop zone
