Fall Break Kayaking Trip to Charlotte!

OVERVIEW

hey yall! I have absolutely fallen in love with kayaking this semester and would love to spend fall break in the water! Charlotte isn’t too far from here and it has an epic thing called a Whitewater Center which is man made rapids and looks hella sick. We will be on the water all weekend whether it’s flat water or whitewater. This is an intermediate trip so anyone who has been to roll practice or have been on a beginner kayaking trip can join! Highest class rapids we will do is class 3 so super chill.

Still figuring out trip specifics but general plan:
Friday- drive down and do some ww
Saturday- lake or chill river
Sunday- lake, chill river, explore Charlotte?
Monday- chill morning run then drive back!
*I need Tuesday to study for two midterms this week so that’s why we are coming back early*

Gear (will update):
Swim suit (maybe even two)
Clothes for the trip
Towel
Toiletries
Food for the trip
Sunscreen, hat, etc
Layers! Maybe even a raincoat
Sleeping pad
Sleeping bag
Money
vibes, book, ukulele, anything to pass the time

Gear I’ll bring:
Tent
Stove
Pots and pans
kayaks, pfds, skirts, helmets

I haven’t finished planning yet so I’ll update this description as I get more solid plans BUT I think we will have gas and camp site fully covered by club so financially I would just bring money for the possibility of various activities we will do. The Whitewater Center requires a day pass (looking to see if we can get a student discount but right now $59) so get enough to cover that.
