OVERVIEW

This trip is part of the reading days Pisgah trip: https://outdoorsatuva.org/adventure/pisgah-fall-break-extravaganza-main-trip/
Make sure to sign up for that first

This trip is to coordinate an ADV bike group. We will be riding for several days in the Pisgah National Forest and in Dupont State Forest. We will also ride with the INT group when possible. If you are interested in this trip but are not sure about the milage, you should sign up for the INT group: https://outdoorsatuva.org/adventure/bike-at-pisgah-fall-break-int-mtb/

The mileage is not set in stone but we want to do 30-60 mile days with 4000-10000 feet of climbing.

We also hope to mix things up a little, because 4 consecutive days of riding would be pretty exhausting. This could include doing a full trip activity (both bike groups and hiking group), maybe a chill hike or visiting Asheville. If you have any ideas for activities, let us know in the comment section of the questionnaire.

The trails in Pisgah National Forest are known to be tough, steep, and wet, both up and down (and SO SO fun!). There are lots of technical features and some might be mandatory (but we will be sure to not hit anything blindly!). Here’s some trails we are thinking about riding:

https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/991856/laurel-mountain
https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/994851/pilot-rock
(is it worth making this list more concise??)

The trails in Dupont State Forest are a little bit less intense than the national forest area to the west of it, but still plenty fun, fast, and technical. Here are some more trails:

Once again if you are interested in these trails but are not sure about your riding ability, consider joining the INT group. Also, feel free to text either one of us with any questions (numbers on our profiles).
