back in cville!

What Up Everyone!!! Were you on the edge of your seat waiting to get off of one of the many Gauley fest waitlists?! And now the weekend you blocked out for a fun filled adventure is sadly open? Well, I have a trip for you! Annabelle and I were oh so excited to go climbing and rafting this weekend and enjoy the Gauley culture, so we are deciding to make a mini trip out to West Virginia just to enjoy a pleasant hike and chilling vibe during the day while partaking in the Gauley shenanigans at night. Although the outdoors aspect of this adventure will be very chill, keep in mind that Gauley fest has a rave vibe to it and people will be partying – so it will not be a typical chill camping experience.
We plan on leaving Friday afternoon and setting up camp on the Gauley festival campgrounds (*it is a 55 dollar ticket per person). On Saturday we will enjoy some nice hiking vibes as we make our way to pillow rock to watch the white-water carnage and then decide what we want to do for the rest of the day after that. We could go see some beautiful fall foliage from the Bridge, or find some hidden boulders to climb, or even chill out and do some fun fall activities.
*You can pay the fee online in advance at this link:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2024-gauley-fest-tickets-927509855947
OR pay in cash when you enter the campground (we recommend paying online)
What to bring-
We are trying to keep to as much of our own personal gear as possible so we are not straining the main Gauley fest trip so If you have your own tent / cooking gear please list it in the questions and what you have so we can figure out the sharing situation.
If you need to check out anything from the gear room, and can’t make the gear room times this week, reach out to us and we’ll try to help.
We want to leave by 3:30pm on Friday from Cville to account for the travel time, dinner, and setting up camp.
On Sunday morning be ready for a fun sunrise drive back to Charlottesville as both Annabelle and I want to get on the road around 7am to be back by 10am.
