Falling off Red Rocks during Fall Break at the Red but they’re not that Red (Red Rocks are actually near Vegas) – INT/ADV climbing

OVERVIEW

Hello ODC,

We want to go to the red for fall break. It will be pretty awesome if you can come with us! We’re looking to bring around 4 others depending on the skills of those who sign up. It’s gonna be pretty sport climbing oriented (but bring your trad rack and we’ll belay you daddy 😉 ) so you should be able to lead belay and redpoint 5.10+/11 at a minimum to make it easier to find crags/areas with grades for everyone. Even if you don’t have those abilities but are still interested, still sign up and we can talk about it! We’ll be staying at miguels which is 3.5 dollars a night. Food will be taken care of on an individual basis but we’ll bring a club stove to share. We’ll be sleeping in tents so we can arrange partners for that once the roster is finalized.

The schedule:
Leave Thursday at 4 ish and arrive at Miguel’s by 11(with stops)
Climb friday, saturday, sunday, monday, and tuesday morning (with a rest day in there somewhere if you want)
Head out by noon on tuesday
Arrive back home tuesday night

You should bring:
Harness, climbing shoes, helmet, chalk
Tent (or friend with tent), sleeping bag & pad, headlamp
camp eating gear
belay device
food/money for food
water bottles (at least 2L)
And any climbing gear you have (Rope, quickdraws, etc)

Based on what everyone has we’ll see what things we’ll need to borrow from the gear room. But we will make sure we have enough:
Ropes, quickdraws, belay devices
Camping stove
guidebook

We’re looking for 2 drivers for this trip so priority if you’re willing to drive and have a somewhat durable car!!
