Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
What’s up party people??
Looking to get some exercise in this weekend, but don’t have any time to waste in the car?
Get out there and get your blood pumping and sweat flowing before the football game with a Saturday morning farmer’s market run. Motivation is always easier to come by when you’re surrounded by friends.
We’re departing from in front of Echols dorm, running past the stadium, through the med school buildings, and up Main street until we reach downtown. From there I was planning on running by the memorial on the downtown mall before looping around and finishing up right in front of the farmer’s market.
That should put us, according to my GPS, right at a 5k. AKA the perfect distance to kick off your weekend of ~festivities~.
After we arrive, I was planning on walking around the farmer’s market, sampling lots of local goodies, and maybe (ok, definitely) picking up a crepe or taco in a fresh tortilla. It should take us around 30 minutes to get there and, allowing for an hour of walking around, I was going to walk straight back up Main street to the corner. We should be back in front of the Rotunda around 10 am, with plenty of time to get pretty before your ~lame~ friends are even out of bed.
And don’t worry if you can’t make it this week, because the Farmer’s Market is every Saturday through December! It’s my favorite place to shop, so I might as well bring some friends along!!
What to bring:
Your running legs (I usually run at about an 8 or 8:30 pace, but we can split into groups according to your personal speed preference)
Water (if you want)
$$CASH MONEY$$ (the vendors at the Farmer’s Market don’t take cards reliably)
Some kind of bag (if you’re planning to spend big at the Farmer’s Market)
