Corner Of Echols Dorm
Also Corner of Echols Dorm
Rocky Mount Trailhead, Skyline Drive, Elkton, VA, USA
My FIRST EVER ODC trip was a trail service trip led by Grace Gray. It’s quite simply in my Outdoors Club blood to work on the trails. We, along with other humans and animals, use trails all the dang time so we have a responsibility to give back to the dirt we walk on. This Friday we’ll be doing trail maintenance, like pruning, waterbar clearing and invasive plant removal. Jim, the trail guy in Shenandoah, also mentioned we might be getting a new section of trail! TRAIL REVEAL!!
As Dolly Parton once said:
tumble out of class and stumble to the corner
pour myself a Nalgene of water
and wait and stretch and try to remember names
jump in the carpool and the music starts bumpin’
out in the woods, the critters start jumpin’
with folks like us on the trail from 1 to 6
Working 1 to 6 what a way to spend the evening
having a good time, talkin’ and prunin’
we’ll just use the saw and we’ll always give you credit
it’s enough to make you happy if you let it
1 to 6, service and sustainability
you would think that I would deserve a bodo’s bagel
want to move along, but theres waterbars to be clearing
I swear sometimes that trail is out to get me
