October 4th, 2021 will mark both my 22nd birthday and my 69th outdoors club trip. Please join me in celebrating the only way that is appropriate: summiting a mountain and watching our favorite mass of incandescent gas cross the horizon in ascendant fashion.
~ Here’s the plan ~
– Meet at Echols dorm at 5:35 am
– Leave Echols NO LATER THAN 5:45 am
– Get to trailhead around 6:30 am
– 30 to 40ish minute hike up depending on how fast you hike
– 7:13am watch the sunrise over the mountain
– 7:20 hike back to the cars
– 7:45 am depart trailhead and arrive back to Charlottesville around 8:30, just in time for 9:00am classes
~ You will need ~
1-2L of water
A headlamp or flashlight (headlamp strongly encouraged)
Snacks if you want those
LAYERS bc it will be pretty cold out
Sturdy shoes
~ Drivers ~
– We love and need your (car) driving ability!
– Club pays for gas + 50% tip! (must have a full tank when we leave)
