FIRESIDE TRAIL VISIONING

OVERVIEW

Helloooo my fellow trail wanderers!!! This is a trip borne of overflowing love and awe at the sheer dedication, creativity, and zest (birthing zest?!?) that you all have poured into our trail trips this year. Our trail crew is simply too complex and dynamic for our current service-trip system, and it’s time to molt our old shell and meander along the ocean floor together in pursuit of a larger one. In other words, I want your voices to be heard more in our trail pursuits; the woods should be accessible to everyone, and it’s with this conviction that we shall unite and blaze a new trail in ODC’s history.

Here’s the plan: we’ll gather around the fire as evening approaches and brainstorm visions for our trail crew. We have so much energy and potential for new projects — whether that’s maintaining ohill trails, creating trail signage, crafting environmental education for trails, collaborating with other trail groups, maintaining a section of the AT, studying our lands’ natural history, cultivating a space of environmental justice and Indigenous sovereignty, making our trails more acceptable, creating art within / from the trails, making trail birthing parties, getting dirty, having fun — and there are so many more ideas we’ll think of together!!!

I’ll bring snacks, large paper, lots of love and respect for you all, and let’s TRAILBLAZE TOGETHER. Anyone is so welcome to join regardless of your level of involvement with past trail trips!!!! <3

The plan:
-Shred Shack 8pm, we’ll luminesce alongside the fire with so much loveeeee n snacks
-8-9 PM: brainstorm!! Get our ideas out! Start organizing ourselves for future trail pursuits.
~9:30 meander along our ways with the spirit of trails deep within us <3
