If you’re joining this trip I’ve probably already told you the plan, but for all the trip stalker out there, here’s the scoop:
Post graduation, there’s going to be a ton of people driving back and forth from colleges to homes to job, that gives us a brief window of opportunity when the states are distracted and we can do the impossible and steal (walk) four states in one just 45 miles and one day. That day? Tuesday the 21st. But like any good heist, half of it happens before the day even arrives:
— Timeline —
The 20th. 18:00 o clock. The convoy departs.
The 20th. 21:30 in the evening. After depositing our getaway car in Harper’s Ferry, we arrive in Rouzerville and cowboy camp at our entry point.
The 21st. 02:00 in the am. To make this heist work, we’ve got to have as much of the day at our disposal so it’s a nice and early wake up time straight into the trail.
The 21st. High noon. The key to the whole thing. A strategically placed younger sibling (not you Evelyn. the other one.) has driving through the morning to meet us at the I-70 lot 19 miles. This is both our bail car, and where we get a surprise addition to our cast half way through.
The 21st. 22:00 past midnight. We’ve pulled off a miracle and can now retire with our amassed riches (pain everywhere).
The 22nd. 02:00. It’s over. We will have seen things you trip stalkers couldn’t believe. Twisted ankles off the shoulder of I-70. Headlamps flickering in the darkness over the Potomac River. All these injuries will fade in time, like bootprints in mud. Time… to sleep.
To bring:
– Food (~4000 calories)
– Water (3 liters, we will pick up more at the bail car)
– Day bag
– Caffeine + electrolytes/salt
– Good hiking shoes
– Gear to cowboy camp (will be left in the car)

– First aid kit
