Friday Afternoon Hike

OVERVIEW

Anyone want to go for a day hike at Cold Mountain? It sounds awesome, with great views and meadows (http://www.hikingupward.com/GWNF/ColdMountain/). The plan is to meet at the side wall of Echols dorm on Friday and leave around 1:15, get there around 2:45 and be back by 8pm. Its an easy to moderate hike that is 5.8 miles. We will be walking back in the dark, as sunset is at 5:15, so you must bring a flashlight or headlamp. Drivers are needed and everyone will be put on the waitlist till a driver signs up. Just a reminder that drivers get priority and that the club pays for gas +30%.

Hikers need to bring: Layers of clothing (recommended a hat and gloves because temperatures will be cold once the sun sets), water, snacks, good hiking shoes, and a Flashlight or headlamp.

Note: Headlamps can be checked out at the gear-room on Tuesday and Wednesday.
