Friday Afternoon Wintergreen Trad/TR

OVERVIEW

This Friday we hope to send Happy Cracks (5.8) at Wintergreen on gear. We will do a few laps on top-rope first and practice gear placements on the route. Even if you haven’t climbed trad before you are welcome to try shoving some metal in the rock while resting assured knowing you are on top-rope – it is a great introduction to trad. This is also just a fun route and Wintergreen is a beautiful place to be (fall colors should be awesome). Colin and I are beginner trad climbers and shouldn’t really be taken as definitive authorities but we do know a little bit and can kind of get you up to speed, at least as far as mock-leading is concerned.

Plan:
1pm depart
2pm arrive at crag, set TR, hike down (10 min hike ish)
2:30 – 6:30 climb!!
7:00 leave
8:00 back home
