Friday Daytrip to Snowshoe

OVERVIEW

If you’re already feeling like you need a break after only two days of classes, and/or you are tempted by the threat of several inches of fresh powder on the slopes being available for the taking, join me for the day this Friday to do some turns at Snowshoe!

For now, the forecast is predicting up to 6-8″ of snow falling on the greater area from Thursday night into the early hours of Saturday morning. So that means great conditions for Friday, but it also means that I’ll reserve the right to cancel the trip at the last minute if there’s any doubt that we can get up there/back safely.

We’ll leave Bonnycastle Circle nice and early at 6 AM (don’t worry, you can sleep in the car) for first tracks, and we’ll leave when the Soaring Eagle lift closes. Our return time can be flexible, but we’ll tentatively plan to head back to UVa at 4 PM.
