Friday Humpback Jamboree!!

OVERVIEW

I don’t know about you, but 2 science tests within the span of 48 hours will have fried my brain and I need some ~nature~ to recover. Soooo we will be heading down to humpback for a sunset hike, because what better way to end your Friday night than with a hike? PLUS, at the top we will not only be chilling, watching the sunset, and gazing at some stars if the sky gods are feeling nice and decide not to make it cloudy, butttt also making and eating GORP!* and partaking in a game or two (Scattergories? Idk yet…).

Logistics: Leave from Echols 5:10, hike to top and watch sunset if we make it in time (set for 6:28 pm). Chill at the top/stargaze/stuff our faces with gorp/game and or general comradery. We should be back in C’ville no later than 9, probably earlier but depends on how long everyone wants to stay at the top.

*What is gorp, you might ask? Google will give you the boring “trail mix” definition, BUT we will be making our own random, disgusting, yet at the same time strangely delicious mix. If you so desire (this part is totally optional, and if you have any allergies it’s probably not a good idea to partake…), bring a snack to contribute to our mega unique trail mix creation, which I will combine in a giant bag and mix up for all of us to share. Ideas: chocolate chips, goldfish, pretzels, oreos, cereal….etc….the possibilities are endless.

You bring:
H2O
Headlamp or other source of light
Sturdy shoes
Dinner and/or (optional) a snack for GORP
Layers: it WILL be chilly at the top!
