OVERVIEW

Hello excitable nrge friends.

Exactly one year ago (approximately) last NRGE, Adam and I met on a climbing trip @ Cotton Club crag. This nrge, now that we are cool leaders or whatever, we figured it’d be a great start to nrge to go back and lead our own trip there. We’re aiming to leave around 8 am Friday to get a full day of climbing in, and then leave the crag around 4-5 to beat the dark & setup camp at Ray’s (though we can assess day of if we wanna keep climbing or get to camp earlier).

This trip is aimed at climbers that already have lead climbing experience and can climb between or above 5.7-10 (there is a cool-looking 11a…). However, I’m open to having a beginner climber or beginner to sport climbing join. So even if you’ve never climbed or sport climbed before, go ahead and sign up if you’re interested, indicate your experience in the questions, and we can chat about bringing you along.

Since this trip is leaving Friday morning, we are not leaving at the 4:20pm main carpool time. This means we’ll need to bring all our camping stuff (or at least the essentials, maybe we can delegate some less necessary things to a later car w more room) & climbing things. Me and my little Subaru can only fit a total of 5 people (maybe only 4 depending on how much space the gear takes up), but if we can get another driver or driver with a larger car than mine, we can both bring more people and have more space, hooray!

Even though we will be driving to the new together, this a part of the larger NRGE trip, so please sign up for the main carpool after you have been let onto this trip!

You bring:
– your general nrge things
– water, food, snacks, other life sustaining things
– layers layers layers
– any personal climbing gear u have! (helmet, harness, shoes, chalk, belay device, etc)
* we will likely be bringing club gear for those planning to do climbing trips, so hold off on checking anything out. We can be in communication about what u do and don’t need to get from the gear room yourself

We bring:
– ropes
– draws
– alpines, anchors, all that goodness
