OVERVIEW

HELLO MOUNTAIN BIKERS. I didn’t ride at Sherando after NRGE last weekend so tomorrow is my redemption.

If you’ve not heard of it before, Sherando Lake is about 45 minutes away in our beautiful George Washington National Forest. Surrounding the lake are miles of awesome singletrack that I’ve wanted to ride for quite some time now. These trails will fulfill any possible biking desire you’ve got, from intensive climbs to huge downhill rock gardens.

We have two options for the route depending on how people are feeling and what we’re wanting to do. We are going to ride about 15 miles either way, one option is climbing Mill Creek Trail with the infamous seven switchbacks, and the other is avoiding this climb taking a different less intensive route to the top of Torry Ridge Trail. Let me know in the questionnaire what you’re interested in doing! No matter the climb, I’m hoping to ride Torry Ridge to Slack’s Trail, and then onto White Rock Gap.

***PLEASE READ***
This trail is a real VA backcountry ride. It has lots of rocks, is steep in spots, and there might not be cell coverage in some areas. There are creek crossings that you might have to dismount the bike to walk across. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER RIDE. Please only sign up if you are comfortable on a mountain bike, and are of intermediate/advanced level. That being said, you don’t need to be a pro to have fun on this ride. If you are comfortable riding most of the Ohill trails, or have done some biking in GWNF before, then you should be fine. If you have questions/concerns at all about the ride, please shoot me a text and we can chat about it! (8045171604)
