Friday the 13th New deep water solo and rafting

OVERVIEW

We’re headed back out to the New! The plan for this trip is to do some deep water soloing and cliff jumping at Summersville reservoir on Friday, stay the night at Ray’s then raft the lower New on Saturday.

Schedule:
Leave Charlottesville around noon on Friday, deep water solo for as long as we feel like, go to Ray’s, wake up Friday morning, paddle the lower New (check the American whitewater page for this section to see what’s up), get back to Charlottesville by 7pm at the latest. Timing is pretty flexible.

To bring:
Camping gear (looking like a little bit of rain so a tent would be good)
Food
Clothes you can swim in
Shoes that won’t fall off in water
*if you need any camping gear, let me know and we can grab it in the morning.

The only prerequisite for this trip is the ability to swim confidently in whitewater and participate in your own rescue.
