Full Rivanna Circuit!

OVERVIEW

What better way to leave your mark on Charlottesville than to leave your footprints ALL THE WAY AROUND IT??? Slip on your trail shoes, pack your electrolytes, and pray to the blister gods because we’re sending the crown jewel of Cville trail running. The Everest of Albemarle County. The El Cap of Old Dominion. Okay, maybe that’s too far, but join me for 23ish miles of dirt, sweat, and joy as we circumnavigate this beloved town on the Rivanna Trail!

Yes, 23 miles is a lot. And you definitely need some experience with running. But fear not! Four reasons you should sign up:
1. The trail isn’t technical. It’s fairly flat and not especially rocky or rooty.
2. We’re NOT running the whole time. That would be miserable. Expect frequent walk and snack breaks as we take the run at “party pace,” to quote Former ODC Prez Bill Talley.
3. The great thing about running around a city is that civilization is always right there. No shame/difficulty in finding a ride back to UVA if you need to bail.
4. It’d be sick and ur shred factor would skyrocket

The Plan:
-Meet at Runk Dining Hall (the north side with the huge window) at 8:30 AM
-Run the trail counter-clockwise for 5-6ish hours, including several pit stops (gas stations along the way, jumping in the river if it’s warm, maybe Bodo’s around mile 19)
-Return as triumphant (exhausted) conquerors of the trail in mid-afternoon. Maybe grab a bite to eat, but more likely retire to our respective abodes to take well-deserved naps.

Things to bring:
-Your cushiest running shoes
-Water in a running-compatible vessel (hand-bottle/hydration vest/soft flask)
-Carby snacks and money to refuel along the way
