Fun Climbing Competition at Peak

OVERVIEW

Prior to the USAC competition on Saturday for kids, Peak is having a fun climbing comp open to anyone (for adults) Friday night from 7-9 on the 28 NEW routes they are setting up! The routes will be top rope and lead climbing from 5.6-5.13 mostly in the front and left side around the arch. The price is $12 per person and we are allowed to climb afterwards.

Please get to Echols by 5:15 so we can leave before 5:30 to arrive in time to register. We will leave so that we can get back to Charlottesville before 12 or whenever we want to leave.

Because of the generous gear hours already provided this week for spring break all gear needed will have to be picked up in advance either today at 5:15 PM, tomorrow at 9 AM, or I can possibly arrange a pick up tomorrow around 2, see Meghan’ Magennis’ email on gear hours. I will need to go to get an ATC myself so I may be able to pick up something for you.

I will probably not be able to take anyone who has not passed the Peak belay test unless a lot of people sign up, which I am not expecting due to spring break trip conflicts, because people competing will need to belay each other. I will increase the number of people if more drivers sign up.
