tryna do it outside this weekend, but can’t kayak worth a damn? join me for a weekend at the New doing fun outdoors things that do not involve drowning!

THE PLAN: this is a companion trip to Gauley Fest, so we will be staying at the same campsite as those krazy kayakers, but during the day shall be partaking in land-based activities. I will be shaping day plans based on the interests of whomever signs up, but this most likely includes some beginner climbing and hiking. during the night hours we can saunter over to the festival to enjoy the music and pretend to care about all the whitewater gear.

***if we so choose to go climbing, I will be leading the required BEGINNER WORKSHOP on the trip so that everybody is set for that!! incentive to come play with me!!***

CAMPING: festival entrance fees are:
-Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: $40
-Friday and Saturday: $30
-Saturday only: $20
the club reimburses $10 a night for camping, so you’ll only have to shell out a little extra for camping.

SCHEDULING: I’d like to spend as much time at the New as possible, but I can try to work with the schedules of whomever signs up. ideally we’d leave Thursday night or Friday morning, and stay through Sunday.

YOU PROVIDE: any climbing gear if you have it, tent/sleeping bag/stove/camping stuff if you have it, clothes (especially warm clothes, it’s usually colder in WV than in Cville right now), water, your own knife, fork, spoon, cup, plate, bowls, etc.

CLUB PROVIDES: good times, climbing gear if you need it, camping gear if you need it, camping fees, gas $$ up to $150/vehicle.

since this is a longer trip and involves more planning than a day trip, PLEASE do not sign up if you’re not sure you can make it! it’s very frustrating to completely re-structure a trip when somebody drops out last minute! If you do have to drop out once you’ve joined, you MUST text me at 336-420-3941 so I can work out logistics. sorry for being so mean about it.

reach out to me if you have any questions/concerns/ideas/dad jokes/compliments/fashion advice/ethical conundrums/etc!!!
