Gauley River Whitewater Kayaking Trip

OVERVIEW

Hi Everyone,

I’m leading a whitewater kayaking trip to run the Lower Gauley this Saturday (potentially the New or Upper Gauley on Sunday, if the group is up for it)!

This is an Advanced/Expert level river with class 4 rapids, so please only sign up if you are an Advanced or Expert kayaker. We will be with a very experienced group of boaters that know the lines, so don’t worry if you have never run this river before.

I plan to depart around 6pm from Echols Dorm and plan to arrive at the campsite at 10pm. Unless we decide to kayak on Sunday, we plan to get back to Charlottesville by 9pm.

Until someone else offers to drive, I currently have 4 extra seats in my car and room for 2 more boats. If you have an inflatable boat, I can fit that on the inside of my car.

The primary things you may need to borrow include a Kayak with kayak gear as well as a Tent with camping gear.
