Gauleyfest

OVERVIEW

Gauleyfest is a huge whitewater festival in Summersville, WV put on as American Whitewater’s largest fundraiser every year. Thousands of boaters gather to paddle, camp out, enjoy the SWAG, vendors and great music. The festival starts friday night, with Saturday being the main event. Most people will be on the river all day Saturday, and head back to the festival grounds for the evening. Gauleyfest is a great time, and an awesome way to connect with other paddlers and pick up gear at great prices.

I will be guiding a raft on the lower Gauley Saturday and paddling either the upper or lower Sunday. I am not in a position to show anyone down either run, though if you needed shuttle we could probably work that out. I can get you gear but if you plan to paddle you should be confident in IV at minimum.

I will be working Friday evening, so I won’t be able to leave until about 8 o’clock in the evening, putting us at the festival around 1:30 AM. Please contact me if you have any other questions or need any gear.
