Gauley Fest
Gauley Fest
Gauley Fest Festival Ground, Summersville, WV, USA
Friends and family. Shredders and shred-watchers. Gremlins and goblins. Esteemed outdoors clubbers.
It is that time of the year. That fabled moment when we all gaze as John Woodward and Mitch Lang bravely lead their people across the treacherous, perilous falls of pillow rock. There is little to do but admire and pray that our proud representatives make it through the biting waters of the unleashed Gauley river.
Now you may be asking: Pietro, what is wrong with you? Why do you do this every time? Just tell me what the darn trip is and save your incessant chatter for the emails.
Ok so basically. This is the trip: we will take a hike during the day to one of two locations. We can choose on site. I linked the options below though. After said hike, we will walk to Pillow Rock, a prime spot to spectate the rafters coming through. There will be gnarly flips and epic tricks (oooooh quasi rhyme). This will be pretty lowkey trip, so we’ll get a little more sleep than everyone else and probably get back before everyone else. We can also mess around in Fayetteville. (We’re gonna also just mess around in general)
The hike:
Summersville Lake: less driving, waterfront time, witness water draining out of lake in real time?? https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/west-virginia/summersville-lake-via-orange-oswald
Endless Wall: the wall is endless! new area to explore, a bit longer, loop
