Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Rocky Top Gym
Want to get your climb on early this season? Want to be able to crank on small edges and slap sandstone? This is your adventure.
I’ll be taking beginner-intermediate climbers on this trip. You must know how to belay and tie-in. If you’ve been to a beginner’s workshop (or have been climbing a little while) you are encouraged to join. If you’re currently climbing 5.7-5.9 this workshop would be perfect for you. (You’ll be waitlisted at first so that I can make sure you fit the guidelines for the trip. Drivers may get priority.)
We’ll be working on basic-intermediate climbing technique such as how to properly use crimps and slopers, how to lay back and climb overhangs, and body awareness and positioning.
Because of overwhelming demand for these workshops you must withdraw if you cannot attend. (You will suffer the wrath of the Leviathan for an unexcused absence!) I will not take no shows from previous trips unless there is no one waitlisted.
You bring: long shorts/pants, water, $7 for a day pass (cash only!), and cut your nails very short
Club provides: gear, ride in a car
