on the lawn!
The Lawn, Emmet Street South, Charlottesville, VA, USA
When I was a young lad, my father would take me and my brother to highway underpasses, abandoned lots, and barren fields. WHY??! Geocaching, of course! For the uninitiated, geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt where participants use GPS to find hidden containers, called geocaches. According to the official website, there are quite a few right around UVA. So this Tuesday, I want to gander around grounds and gather geocaches with ODC gremlins (YOU).
For the record, as an avid LNT lover, I do not condone the placing of geocaches, but since they are already there and well-visited, I feel this is fine. Feel free to bring some small items to leave in the Geocache if it is a suitable box and if you feel comfortable doing so.
Here’s the plan:
3:15pm: meet on the lawn
3:30pm: head out for potentially three (3) geocaches along a mile or two walk!
4:30pm: done, enjoy the day!
