Grand Canyon
They canceled my freaking J-Term class. So I’m going to go do something I like more anyway. That is: go to the Grand Canyon, backpack, volunteer, and camp from Jan 4- Jan 10.
Basically, I signed up for a program managed by the National Park Service, and Grand Canyon Volunteering specifically. They provide food, organization, and special gear. Volunteers provide willingness to hike 5000 ft down into the Grand Canyon, live out of 40 lb packs for 6 days, and work hard during the daylight tracking and attacking invasive plant species.

All the Club here would provide is gear.
To get more value out of the roughly 350 plane ticket from Dulles, I’ll probably go to Arizona and try to play outside before the scheduled packing dates (especially for anything in the water), but before deciding what to do I want to see if anyone else is interested in doing the volunteering and camping.
