Great Dismal Swamp Sea Kayaking

OVERVIEW

We’ll leave on Friday and head to the campground at the Northwest River Park near the NC boarder in Chesapeake. Saturday morning we’ll go on an awesome guided kayaking trip throughout the Dismal Swamp. The Swamp has over 200 bird species and all kinds of other animals like otters, mink, and foxes. Definitely check out the cool pictures in the link to get a preview of what we’ll be seeing! After the kayaking trip, we can hike around the swamp a little and then head back to UVA.

The club will provide: gas money, a ride in a car, all meals for Saturday, costs for the sea kayaking trip (you’re getting an incredible deal!), campground fees, camping gear if you need it

You must bring: money for dinner on the road Friday night, shoes that stay on your feet and can get wet (Chaco’s, old tennis shoes, etc.), big water bottle, bathing suit, hiking shoes/boots, camping gear (sleeping bag, pad, tent) if you have any, sunscreen, dry clothes, rain gear just in case, instruments for camping out if you can play (or can’t…)
