haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate (devil’s marbleyard day hike)

Greetings from Djibouti 😛

Thought I’d kick off the semester right with a lil day hike action 😎⛰️ 😵. So the concept behind this trip is combining two things that I think are cool and fun: winter day hikes and instant mashed potatoes. The plan is to do this hike and somewhere along the way while we’re taking a break, I’ll cook us up some iDaHo SpUdS to warm our bellies and fuel our bodies.

Devil’s marbleyard is pretty rockin (pun intended)! It’s an eight mile loop located in Natural Bridge VA that has a sweeeeeet scree field for us to play in. I find it to be an enjoyable hike in most weather conditions, but I especially enjoyed doing it last January in the icy/snowy weather.

the sched (pronounced skej):
9:25-30 – meet at the corner of echols dorm (TEXT ME IF YOU’RE RUNNING LATE SO I KNOW) and commence driving to the trailhead
11:00 – arrive at trailhead and begin hikey hike
somewhere in between – cook and crush some instant mashed potatoes (yum)
5ish? – get back to the trailhead
7 pm tops – back to cville <3 What you bring: sturdy shoes heart full of love proPer clothes for the weather (check the weather in Natural Bridge, VA) pep in your step 1-2 L of water for drinkin a vessel to eat your taters spoon other snacks/lunch if your stomach is a bottomless pit like mine mask for car ride! what I bring: pocket rocket instant mashed potatoes <3 DRIVERS WILL BE PRIORITIZED OFF OF THE WAITLIST. Drivers get full reimbursement for gas + 50% tip. oh! also -- you probably won't have service in the trailhead area -- prepare for this accordingly!
