HAWK’S EYE VIEW FROM HAWKSBILL SUMMIT

OVERVIEW

Fall’s finally here and I’m trying to get some great views of the scenery in SNP and enjoy the cooler weather. And because the last time I did a longer hike while slightly hungover did not go so well, this hike’ll be pretty short and beginner-friendly, 1.7 miles total with about 700 feet of elevation gain. At the summit, we’ll have a 360 degree panoramic view over the Shenandoah Valley and the Piedmont, and I’ll be taking some amazing pictures of it all.

Timeline:
1:30 PM – Head out from Corner of Echols
3:00 PM – Arrive at the trailhead
3:45 PM – Reach the summit and enjoy the amazing views
5:00 PM – Return to our cars
6:30 PM – Back in cville and probably grab food

What you need to bring:
* Water
* Snacks if ya want
* Camera to get some beautiful pictures (I’ll be bringing mine)
* Hiking shoes (or at least closed-toed shoes)

As always, drivers and ppl with national parks passes will get priority off the waitlist. Your gas will be reimbursed + a 50% tip, just remember to show up with a full tank of gas. Ppl will be taken off the waitlist as drivers sign up.
