Hawksbill Mountain
I have a strong urge to hike Hawksbill that just won’t go away so please join me for a beautiful sunrise from the highest peak in Shenandoah. This hike is a little less than a mile and is not bad at all. It probably wont take us as long as I have it below, but I like to take my time
The Plan:
-5:00 am Depart from the Student Activities Building Parking Lot
-6:30 am Get to the trailhead
-7:05 am Arrive at the summit and watch the sunrise
~8:10 am Return to trailhead at
~9:30 am Return to Charlottesville and hopefully (if there is
interest) stop at waffle house, which would add time of course.
Bring:
-WARM CLOTHES – it is supposed to be pretty nice but you will still
need lots of layers
-headlamp
-water
-hiking shoes
-snacks
-your favorite warm caffeinated beverage
-a chipper attitude
-money if you want waffle house
DRIVERS NEEDED!
-Drivers need to show up to SAB with a full tank of gas!
-Drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas
+50% tip!
