Hawksbill Sunset Hike!

OVERVIEW

Who else is itching to get in one last sunset hike before they head home for spring break?? I know I sure am. I’ve never been to Hawksbill but I’ve heard great things about the sunsets there so I figure it’s an excellent place to close out this part of the semester. The hike itself is a fairly steep 1.5 miles but it should be pretty doable for anyone 🙂

~The Plan~
meet at echols @ 4
drive around 1 hr 15 min to the trailhead
head up the mountain at about 5:20
watch the (hopefully) gorgeous sunset at 6:10
hike back down to the car when we’re ready, drive home, and arrive back in Cville before/around 8:30

*DISCLAIMER* there’s a chance of rain on Thursday night and I’m personally not thrilled by the thought of hiking up there in the freezing rain, so if the forecast looks nasty on Thursday morning there is a 99% chance this trip will be cancelled/postponed to after break but I will keep you guys updated

Stuff to bring:
park pass for entry into Shenandoah National Park if you have one
plenty of water
snackz
flashlight/headlamp !
warm layers!! (it’s going to be chilly up there!!)
sturdy shoes

DRIVERS NEEDED!! Drivers get priority off the waitlist, gas reimbursed, and a 50% tip! Please show up with a full tank.
