Hike – Little Devils Stairs

OVERVIEW

Little Devils Stairs is a fantastic, lesser-known hike in Shenandoah. The trail runs alongside Keyser Run and is about 2 miles up with ~1500 ft. elevation gain. This is a relatively strenuous hike. If you enjoy the process of hiking, then this one is for you.

We will depart from Echols with full tanks of gas at 09:30, then make the 1 hour and 15 minute drive to the trailhead. We will hike up Little Devils Stairs for an intense 2 miles, then take the 3.5 mile fire road back for a total of 5.5 miles. At some point, we will stop for lunch/snack breaks. This should take us about 4 hours. We will arrive back in Charlottesville no later than 16:30.

Everyone will be waitlisted until I have a driver. Drivers get waitlist priority (the club provides reimbursements for gas plus tip).

You bring:
– 2L of water
– appropriate foot attire
– snacks/lunch/trail food
– car (for waitlist priority)
