So you’re not going to the Outer Banks. It’s okay. There is still fun to be had here. Friday! Friday! Friday!
Off to Blue Hole in the western part of beautiful Ablemarle County.
We drive, park, hike along the stream at the base of the mountain, and kazam, we have the crisp, cool, refreshing taste of mountain water and air to enjoy to our enjoyment’s content.
After our enjoyment’s content is content, we go to Brick Oven Pizza up 29 north a little ways (my personal Cville favorite. Sadly they are always closed on Sunday when my parents come to town to buy me lunch.) There we eat, perhaps improvise a few rousing ballads in honor of our outdoorsey mightiness. Then: “Back to school. Back to school. Billy’s going back to school.” He’ll show his dad he’s not a fool.
You bring? Money for pizza (I recommend 10+ for healthy appetites). Water. Swimsuit + towel. A harmonica if you have one.
