Hike to View of the Tye River Take 2

OVERVIEW

If you wanted to get out to Three Ridges last week but couldn’t go you might enjoy this much shorter hike in the same area! We’ll start at the trailhead on Love Gap on the Parkway, 16 miles south of where 64 crosses the Blue Ridge, and hike about three miles out along the Three Ridges trail to a stunning view of the Tye River Gorge and the Priest mountain and stop for a snack break We’ll come back along the same route for a roughly six mile hike. passing apple trees, remnants of old homesteads and the Maupin Field Shelter on the AT. If there’s time we can also stop to identify some useful plants for food and starting a campfire and other survival skills.
Club provides: A seat in a car and money for gas
You provide: Your snacks, water to drink and anything else you need. Sunglasses and camera recommended and good shoes for a sometimes rocky trail.
