Hiking Old Rag

OVERVIEW

Take a break from studying and finals to remind yourself it’s GOOD to be at UVA with a hike up Old Rag Mountain! It’s a fun hour drive each way, and about a 7 mile, 4 hour round trip hike, with an elevation gain of 2,200 feet for a total of 3,291 ft. Great views from the top, with a rock scramble thrown in for good measure. Bring good hiking boots or shoes, WATER (at least 1 liter), snacks and lunch, layers (maybe chilly in the morning and on top), camera if you want and sunscreen. This is a semi-strenuous hike, so be prepared to work! I will need one person to drive in order to fill all the spots, but you will be reimbursed for gas ON THE SPOT! Any park entrance fees will also be paid for. Weather forecast: Upper 70’s and partly cloudy. Ditch those final exam blues and come play in the Blue Ridge Mountains! Please only sign up if you know you can get up at 8am!
