Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Shenandoah National Park
The weather is nice for once, and I have Labor Day off, so let’s go do a hike that I have wanted to hit for a long time!
This hike is 14 miles on the very northern end of SNP, so the drive there will be about 2 hours. Jeremy’s Run is in the Beecher Ridge area, so there will be a decent chance of running into some black bears. (Hopefully, you agree that this is a good thing.) There are supposed to be 14 stream crossings, so extra shoes/sandals/socks are definitely a must if you don’t want to have massive blisters.
We’ll leave at 10, get there at noon, and should be done hiking by 4:00 if we are very fast, 5:00 if we are medium, or 6:00 if we are slow. I cannot comprehend hiking slower than 25 minute miles, so we should be back to Echols by 8:00 at the latest.
